John Fuselier is an
MD in a group practice of OB/GYN in Lafayette, Louisiana. He began
"taking pictures" with a Kodak Brownie, progressing later to a
Polaroid Land Camera by the late 50's. During his first year in medical
school while working with the head of Anatomy, he had access to a
well-equipped darkroom and an Exacta camera.
His photographic venues have been global, ranging from his time in
Vietnam in 1966 to later travel in England, Poland, Germany, France and
Russia.
Dr. Fuselier's
photographic enlargements adorn the walls of homes, galleries and
businesses throughout the US as well as walls and ceilings in his office
and exam rooms, eliciting many words of admiration and encouragement
from his patients.
Until recently, his preference had remained
steadfast to the photographic film medium. However, his dedication to
keeping up with advances in his medical profession has revealed itself
in his avocation of Photography. He has moved into the endless
possibilities of the digital camera’s versatility.
His native Louisiana has always had the focus of his loving artists’
eye, and now, he traverses the twists and turns of her bayous and
waterways in his kayak which brings him into areas he was unable to
access before.
